Carl Buhler - Maintenance and Logistics Experience with US Air Force

About Carl Buhler

With experience in the US Air Force extending nearly three decades, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Carl Buhler serves within the Air Combat Command (ACC) headquarters in Hampton, Virginia. During his assignment at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, he was responsible for aircraft maintenance and logistics supply activities, and provided oversight of the infrastructure investment and force protection programs.

His core focus areas were to ensure maintenance, logistics readiness, engineering, and security forces units were ready to deploy for combat on short notice. He also worked with various staff agencies, MAJCOMs, the inspector general, and wings to increase sortie production and readiness. Brig Gen Buhler also ensured Air Force Engineering and Technical Services (AFETS) personnel were providing high-quality technical training and support to field-level units spanning the globe.

A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Brig Gen Buhler deployed on active duty to the cease-fire phase of Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. His experience extends to commanding the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Group in Southwest Asia, the 78th Air Base Wing at Robins AFB in Georgia, and Hill Air Force Base’s Ogden Air Logistics Complex in Utah. Active with the Thunderbird Alumni Association, Carl Buhler served as the United States Air Forces Air Demonstration Squadron's maintenance officer during the 1997 and 1998 show seasons.
